Bonnie K. Spindler is the "Victorian Specialist" at Zephyr Real Estate, where she brags about her forte of flipping units.
She has Ellised the following addresses:
She also abused OMI evictions in the Lower Haight in the late 1990s, including at 1550 Fell.
A tenant recently wrote the Mapping Project: "Bonnie Spindler may have Ellised 19 units of her own but she has participated in Ellising hundreds more as a real estate agent at Zephyr - as an example, we were Ellised when she was hired as as the agent to sell the building we lived in. She arranged for the fractional financing, sold each condo, and when one unit wouldn't sell because it was not optimal for an owner to live in, she even got her friend and "stager" to purchase the unit and then rent it out exactly two years after the eviction for 4 times what it was renting for before. She knows the Ellis Act inside out, and profits on more than just her 19 units."
Her biography on Zephyr describes:
"While some people’s fate is predetermined by a family business or a traditional obligation, Bonnie Spindler’s forte was formed organically, through life experience. At an early age, Bonnie was taken to open houses, considered “fixers” with her parents and attended boat, motor home and antique shows. Therefore, not surprisingly, her past careers include antique sales, advertising and interior design, all of which work wonderfully in real estate.
At 23, she purchased her first real estate investment. A fixer for which she rolled up her sleeves and learned firsthand how to renovate an old house. Since then, Spindler began “fixing and flipping” her personal residences and investment properties.
She markets herself as the "Victorian Specialist." Ms. Spindler lives in an 1893 Victorian, originally built by Isadore Zellerbach. This experience allows her to convey to her clients, her intimate knowledge, the joys and frustrations of owning a Victorian-era building. While Victorians are her preferred architectural period, Spindler sells everything from Gothic to modern, new construction condos to TICs, as well as commercial properties and business opportunities. 'No deal is too small or too big,” says Spindler. “Today’s $350,000 buyer, is tomorrow’s $3,000,000 investor.'"
